Reporting an error

Email kpleelaaravind@gmail.com with the page and what is wrong. You do not need to be polite about it or to prove anything — pointing at the sentence is enough.

The kinds of error most worth reporting:

• A product status that no longer matches the product. These drift fastest. If the status page says something a product contradicts, the page is wrong.
• A claim about the founder — a date, a qualification, a project detail.
• A number. Accuracy figures, counts and measurements all come from a stated source, and a mismatch with that source is an error.
• A broken or wrong link, especially one going somewhere it should not.
• A third-party name or logo used in a way its owner does not permit. If you work for one of the companies named on this site and would like the reference changed or removed, email the same address and it will be.

What happens next

1. I check the claim against its source rather than against my memory of it.
2. If it is wrong, the page is corrected and its last-reviewed date changes. A correction that materially changes the meaning of a page is noted on the page rather than made silently.
3. If the claim was right, I will tell you what the source was so you can judge it yourself.
4. If I cannot tell, the claim comes off the site until I can. Removing an unverified statement is cheaper than defending it.

Corrections already made

This site was written after checking each product against its live state, and that process changed several things that earlier planning had recorded. Those are listed openly on the status page — most notably Space’s commercial position, which this site briefly described as already trading and now states as it is: free to access today, with £1 monthly and £10 yearly access planned but not currently active.

They are published because a correction that only exists in a commit message is not a correction anyone can see.

News has its own process

ITISYOU News keeps a corrections log of its own, linked from its front page, including when it is empty. Editorial corrections about a news event belong there rather than here, since they attach to the event and its revision history.

What is deliberately absent

Some things missing from this site are not errors. There are no user counts, revenue figures, testimonials, awards or partnership claims, because none of them exist. No data protection registration number is published, because none is held in the project records. The founder’s current employer is not named, at his request. Reporting these as omissions is reasonable, and the answer will be this paragraph.
