Space

A quiet corner of the web for breathing, resting and doing nothing in particular.

Open and free to enter. Commercial access — £1 monthly or £10 yearly — is planned but is not currently active, and nobody is charged for Space today. When it does open, the passes are intended as fixed-period access passes bought one period at a time, not automatically renewing subscriptions.

What makes it different

It removes the machinery that usually keeps you in an app — no streaks, no leaderboards, no feed, no message about the day you missed.

Who it is for

  • People who want a few minutes of quiet without installing anything
  • Anyone who finds most wellbeing apps quietly demanding

What it does today

Each of these is tied to the evidence at the foot of this page, checked on the date shown above.

  • No renewal to forget, if it ever charges

Space is free today. The commercial model, when it opens, is a period bought at a time — £1 monthly or £10 yearly — as one-time payments rather than a renewing subscription, so there would be no charge to discover on a later statement and no cancellation to remember.

  • Analytics stays off until you say otherwise

Space asks before it measures anything, and the measurement stays disabled until the visitor allows it. Declining is a real choice, not a delayed prompt.

What it does not do

The unfinished parts, stated here rather than discovered later.

  • A cinematic entry sequence was built and then removed. The quality was not good enough to keep, so it is not a feature of Space today and is not described as one anywhere on this site.
  • Space is deliberately small. If you are looking for a course library, a coach or a progress history, it does not have those and is not trying to.
  • It is free to enter today and there is no way to pay for it, so it currently earns nothing. That is a fact about the present rather than a promise about the future.

How it is paid for

Free

Space is currently free to access. Commercial access of £1 monthly or £10 yearly is planned but is not currently active. Nothing is charged today, there is no payment route on the site, and the passes are intended to be one-time purchases with no automatic renewal — so when they do open there will be nothing to cancel.

Similar category, different approach

Calm and Headspace are the names most people reach for when describing this kind of software, which makes them a useful starting point rather than a target. They are large, produced, subscription businesses with libraries of guided content. Space is one screen made by one person, and its main design decision is subtraction — it works by having less in it, not more.

Evidence

Sources for this page

  • Returns HTTP 200 and is titled "itisyou — a quiet place": one quiet entry screen, with no feed, no streak and no library behind it. Analytics is present but disabled until the visitor allows it. The billing terms are not quoted on this screen — they come from the payment records and the founder confirmation listed beside this.

  • Space payments worker — access pass pricesprivate source — described, not linked

The payments service documents live GBP Stripe Price objects for a £1.00 monthly pass and a £10.00 yearly pass, both created as one-time prices with recurring set to null — fixed-period access passes, not automatically renewing subscriptions. The switch state recorded here on 2026-08-26 has since been superseded by the founder confirmation; the superseded reading is kept in the project evidence matrix rather than deleted.

  • Returns HTTP 200 and reads "Free to enter, no account details beyond an email" in both the page copy and the meta description. /pricing, /plans, /subscribe, /upgrade, /join and /buy all return 404. Space quotes no price of its own and offers no route to pay.

  • Owner instruction — Space's public position, revisedprivate source — described, not linked

On 2026-08-27 the owner set the public position as: Space is currently free to access, and commercial access of £1 monthly or £10 yearly is planned but is not currently active. Nobody is to be described as currently charged. The passes remain intended as non-auto-renewing access passes rather than automatically renewing subscriptions. This supersedes the confirmation of 2026-08-26 that Space had opened commercially, which is retained rather than deleted.
