Status signals that stay separate
An event carries its own labels — developing, editor reviewed, emerging, single source — rather than collapsing them into one score. Editorial review and independent corroboration are different things and are shown as different things.
Revision history attached to every event
Each event links to its evidence, its current status and its full revision history, so a reader can see how the reporting changed rather than only its latest state.
A corrections log that is not optional
Corrections have their own log, linked from the front page, including when there is nothing in it. Corrections are recorded rather than quietly edited in.
What it does not do
The unfinished parts, stated here rather than discovered later.
- News has not launched. Anything you read there today is a build, and it may change without notice.
- Its public address is still being brought online, so it may not answer yet.
- Coverage is thin, because the point of the build is to test the structure rather than to be a news service.
- No advertising is running, and none should be read into the plan for it.
How it is paid for
Free — limited advertising planned, not active
Intended to be free to read, with limited advertising to cover costs once there is a product to fund. No advertising is running today and no advertising code is installed.
Similar category, different approach
Google News and Ground News are the familiar reference points — one aggregates at scale, the other makes source bias legible. ITISYOU News is aimed at a narrower question than either: not what is being reported, but what changed since you last looked, and how well each part of it is supported. It is early, and comparing an unlaunched build to either on quality would be meaningless.
